I drilled a dozen carrelets for a railing job and the vise held each one dead center every time, no measuring or shimming needed. The self-centering design really does align the piece automatically, which saved me a ton of fiddling. Solid grip, zero slippage on the drill press.

The self-centering mechanism really does keep the carrelet square without me fiddling with it, which saved time on my last batch. Only gripe is the jaws could open a bit wider for thicker stock. Solid for the price.
