Snug-Plug Veritas
The conical shape really does make a difference — the plugs seat flush with barely any sanding, which saved me a ton of time on a walnut tabletop. Cutting them from offcuts means the grain lines up almost invisibly.
I was skeptical about the imperial sizing at first, but these cutters matched my plug set perfectly. The taper is clean and the plugs sit flush without any wobble.
These cutters leave a plug that seats so tight I barely need glue, and the taper is consistent from one plug to the next. Used them on walnut and oak with no tearout, even on end grain.
