Grohmann 6 1/4" Santoku-Messerklinge

The blank is already ground to a nice clean profile, so I only had to focus on shaping the handle—saved me a ton of time. The 6 1/4" blade feels well-balanced in the hand even before I added my own wood. Happy with how the steel took an edge after a quick session on the stones.

I've been shaping the handle on this blank for a couple of evenings now, and the 6 1/4" blade length feels just right for chopping herbs without taking over the counter. The steel takes an edge nicely even before I've finished the handle, which is a good sign for how it'll perform once I seal it.

The steel feels nicely balanced for a 6 1/4" blade, and the blank's shape is so well-defined that I only had to spend a couple of hours sanding and fitting my own handle. It's a great starting point if you want a custom knife without forging your own.
