The sharpness out of the box honestly surprised me for the price—they cut clean mortises in oak without much tear-out. They're not premium, but for everyday shop work, they get the job done and paid for themselves on the first project.

The set arrived well-packed and the chisels seat snugly in my mortising attachment without any wobble. For the price, these handle everyday joinery tasks just fine, though I’ll probably grab a sharper bit for the tougher hardwoods later.

The 3/4" chisel fit my drill-press attachment perfectly and cut clean mortises in oak on the first try, no wobble at all. For the price, these are a solid everyday set—sharp enough out of the box that I didn't feel the need to hone them right away.
