Drilled a bunch of 3/4" holes through maple for a shop jig and these things cut like butter, no burning smell at all. The helical flutes really do pull the chips out fast, so I wasn't stopping every few seconds to clear the bit. Holes came out clean on both sides, which I can't say for my old set.

Bored of splintered exit holes with my old drill bits, so I gave these a shot. The helical flute clears sawdust so efficiently that I didn't have to stop and pull the bit out mid-hole, and the cuts came out remarkably clean.

The helical flute really does pull the sawdust out fast—I barely had to clear the hole midway through, and the edges came out clean without any scorching. Compared to my old straight-flute bits, these definitely run cooler on longer cuts.
