Hock 4 1/2" Plane Blades

The blade sits dead-flat on the frog and took an edge that lasted through a full afternoon of jointing oak, which is more than my old iron ever managed. It’s noticeably thicker at the cutting edge, so there’s zero chatter on the final pass.

Swapped out the old blade on my 4 1/2 plane and the difference is night and day—this one holds its edge through a full afternoon of work without a hint of chatter. Precision-crafted is right; it seated perfectly with zero adjustment fuss. My only regret is not upgrading sooner.

Took it straight from the box to my 4 1/2 plane, and the precision-crafted edge held up beautifully through a full afternoon of hardwood work. Setup was nearly effortless, and it’s already made my old blade feel like a distant memory.
