For a 11/16” bit, the high-carbon steel holds an edge impressively well—I bored through a dozen oak dowels and the tip still looks factory-fresh. It walked maybe half a millimeter on the first strike, but once it seated, the holes were perfectly round and clean.

The brad-point tip is a lifesaver—started drilling into a smooth walnut board and the bit didn’t wander a millimeter. Clean, accurate holes every time, and the high-carbon steel held its edge through the whole project.

Drilled maybe twenty holes in oak this afternoon and the brad-point tip grabbed instantly without wandering a millimeter. The high-carbon steel took the abuse without dulling, and the clean exit holes meant zero splintering on the backside.
