The old blue shade is exactly what I wanted for the window trim, a proper muted vintage tone rather than a bright modern blue. It goes on thin and takes a couple of days to cure, but the wood breathes instead of feeling sealed under plastic.
The oil really soaked into the porch railing I just did, leaving a matte, breathable finish that feels more like part of the wood than a coat on top. I’m impressed with how evenly it leveled out with just two passes, and the old blue has a nice, muted depth that shifts in the light.
