Took me a bit to get the hang of it, but once I did, the dovetails come out cleaner than anything I’ve managed with my old chisels. The precision on the cutting and cleaning of the joints is spot on, and the control it gives you is exactly what I needed.
The bed is dead flat and the adjustable throat closes up so tight there’s zero tear-out on the dovetails I’ve cut. It takes a minute to dial in the depth, but once it’s set, the control is incredible.
That machined dovetail joint came out cleaner than anything I've managed by hand before, and the blade holds its setting without drifting mid-cut. The body's balance makes controlled work feel almost effortless, even on a tricky half-blind joint. This is the plane I'll reach for every time now.
