Dremel 3100 Variable-Speed Rotary Tool

I was sanding down a wooden picture frame this weekend and the variable-speed control made it so easy to switch from a slow polish to a faster grind without stopping mid-project. The dial sits right where my thumb naturally rests, so I never had to take my eyes off the work to adjust it.

The dial feels really solid when I'm switching speeds mid-project, and it keeps the bit steady no matter what I'm cutting. I've used it for a few weekend jobs already and it's handled everything I've thrown at it without bogging down.

The variable-speed function made carving this little birdhouse trim feel completely controlled, even at the slowest setting. It’s got some heft to it, which actually steadied my hand more than my old tool did.
