That extended middle tine is the whole reason I bought this — it slides right along the edge of my raised beds where my hoe can't reach. Weeding between the pavers took half the time it usually does.
The longer middle tine is what sold me on this thing — it actually gets right into the seam where the patio meets the garden bed, which my old hoe never managed. Curved side tines rip out chickweed roots cleanly too. I've used it every weekend since it arrived.
The curved side tines really do pull weeds up by the roots, which surprised me for such a simple tool. Only gripe is the handle gets a bit slick when my hands are sweaty, but for edging along the garden wall it's become my go-to.
