Cutting the whale body out on my scroll saw took a couple evenings, but the pattern lines were clear enough that I never second-guessed a curve. My nephew won't get off it, and the rockers have a nice smooth arc so it actually glides instead of tipping.

The full-size pattern pieces saved me a ton of guesswork on the curved tail, which was the part I was dreading. Took a weekend to cut and assemble, and my nephew hasn't let go of it since.

The full-size pattern sheets made tracing the curved tail a breeze, though I wish the instructions had a few more photos for the assembly step. Took me a weekend in the garage, and my nephew hasn't let go of it since.
